Workshops
To complement the experience of the guided visits to the exhibitions, the Museum has a group of workshops available throughout the year.
In parallel, in festive periods (Carnival, Easter, Christmas, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Children’s Day, etc.) and for exploring its temporary exhibition contents, the Museum also has many other workshops available.
WINGED FEET!
What if we could fly with winged shoes? What if we could have wings on our feet? What shoes could would make us fly?
SANJO ARE OUT THERE...
Sanjo is a brand of sneakers from S. João da Madeira that became famous all over the country. For this reason, in the Shoe Museum there is a showcase full of beautiful Sanjo sneakers. After seeing the different models exhibited, visitors will be challegend to create their own sanjo shoe.
CAN YOU GIVE ME THE HONOR OF THIS DANCE?
The history of the evolution of footwear is closely linked to the history of dance. In this workshop, the participants will have the opportunity to experience various dance steps characteristic of different historical periods, such as the Waltz or Can-can of the 19ths, the Charleston of the 1920s, the Rock’n roll of the 1950s or the Disco of the 1980s.
MY FIRST SHOE
Using footwear modeling techniques used in industry and taking into account the technical specificities of the raw materials and different ways of production, visitors will be challenged to create their first shoe.
IS THIS A SHOE?
The "Art Shoes" area exhibits artwork whose main theme is footwear. This activity proposes the visitor to work on the fragile line that distinguishes the Shoe as an everyday object and as an artistic object. Using a shoe form visitors will create their own "art shoe" deciding theirselves where to draw that line.
